What began as a modest 10-acre farm nestled in the fertile highlands of Uganda has grown into a thriving 25-acre estate, nurtured by love, soil, and sunshine. At Jef Holdings Coffee, every bean carries a story — of perseverance, craftsmanship, and the dream of a better cup.
We don’t just grow coffee — we cultivate experience. Our cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness, their vibrant red skins glistening in the morning sun. Through traditional sun-drying techniques, we unlock the purest essence from every cherry, preserving flavour and integrity from farm to brew.
Today, we proudly produce 200 tonnes of premium-grade coffee annually, each batch reflecting our devotion to quality and our respect for the land and its people.
The Coffee Cherry's Slow Bloom
Just as a babe in its mother's womb is carried for nine months before it sees the light of day, so too does the cherry of the coffee plant demand a like patience! From its tender blossom, it bides its time for three-quarters of a year, ripening under the sun's warm gaze and quaffing the very essence of Uganda's rich earth. And lo, when it finally turns a vibrant red – a hue so bold it might shame a cardinal's hat! – then, and only then, is it deemed ready for harvest.
It is then plucked by hand, then laid beneath the tropical sun to dry, much like a lazy gentleman catching forty winks on a summer's morning.
Once dried, its outer skin, a mere husk, is gently removed, revealing the precious bean within.
And thus, good connoisseur, this treasure awaits your discerning palate, ready to be prepared in myriad ways, as suits your most exquisite fancy!
Our Vision: Brewing a Sustainable Future
We’re not just expanding — we’re elevating an ecosystem. Our goal is to grow from 200 tonnes to 500 tonnes through a transformative outgrower scheme, partnering with local farmers to scale production and wealth across communities.

Lo and behold our cherry is now roasted. Indeed, our roasted bean found herself destined for many forms. She might be ground and brewed into a potent, dark Espresso, a concentrated awakening for the senses. She could transform into a creamy Latte, softened with steamed milk, or a classic, frothy Cappuccino, crowned with a cloud of foam – a beloved staple in cafes worldwide. Perhaps she would become a robust, black Americano, or a decadent Mocha, infused with chocolate. Some would find her a refreshing Iced Coffee on a warm afternoon, or even a delightful Frappuccino,a frosty, blended indulgence. From the bustling piazzas of Rome and the elegant salons of Paris, to the vibrant coffee shops of Seattle and the tranquil tea houses of Kyoto, our humble Robusta bean, in her myriad forms, journeyed to countless tables across the globe. She brought warmth to the chilly mornings of Berlin, fueled the creative minds in London, and provided a moment of quiet reflection in the homes of Melbourne.
